The world stands at a crossroads. The latest report from the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change is crystal clear in its findings. If we do not act immediately, we will not meet the Paris Agreement goal of limiting global temperature rise to 1.5°C. This is a goal we must fight to achieve! Therefore, COP26 in Glasgow this November is the most important climate conference since the adoption of the Paris Agreement in 2015.
There is an urgent need for countries of the world to commit to major reductions in their greenhouse gas emissions and to accelerate the transition away from fossil fuels. This is especially true of the world’s largest emitters.

We are leading the way with our ambitious goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 70% by 2030, and with our innovative green solutions in wind, water, shipping and other sectors.
We are also increasing our financial assistance to developing countries for climate adaptation and the green transition. And we are working closely with businesses and international organisations to continuously push the world in a greener direction and keep the 1.5°C target within reach.

Climate adaptation
Climate change is already affecting the world we live in. We must adapt to the changed climate – including adaptation of our housing and agriculture. But these efforts cost money.
